In 1976, the legendary Bana opened the doors of the Monte Cara club, first African cultural venue in Portugal. Monte Cara was also a record label, which at the time released incredible Cape Verdean records, and a producing entity responsible for bringing artists such as Celina Pereira, Cesária Évora, Fantcha, Paulino Vieira and Tito Paris to Lisbon. With the spirit of the times and the infinite possibilities of the 21st century, a band with the purest Cape Verdean soul and unparalleled swing was reborn.
